Father Mbaka closes the Ministry of Adoration

Rev. Ejike Mbaka, a Catholic priest from Enugu, closed the activities of the Ministry of Worship on Saturday.

This came after the Catholic Diocese of Enugu banned its members from attending “all religious and liturgical activities” at the Rev. Mbaka.

According to the diocese, this was due to the persistent disobedience of canonical laws by the priest.

The Catholic Bishop of Enugu, Callistus Onaga, said in a statement that Mbaka had continually flouted the rules of the church, stressing that she would no longer tolerate its excesses.

This was after a comment by Father Mbaka who said that a former governor of Anambra State and Labor Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi was a miserly man, who would never become the country’s president.

Many Nigerians were outraged by this and urged that he be subject to proper discipline.

Mbaka has now issued a statement to his supporters, alerting them that the ministry’s programs will no longer take place.

The statement posted on the ministry’s official Facebook page reads:

“Dear Worshippers, There will be no program starting tomorrow June 19, 2022 at the Enugu Nigeria Amen Worship Ministry, Umuchigbo Emene, Enugu State.

“Sunday Mass, Wednesday (E No Dey) and night programs will not be held until further notice.

“God bless the Ministry of Worship Enugu Nigeria Amen and God bless our Spiritual Director, Reverend Fr, Ejike Mbaka.

“Keep praying for our dad and God bless you all.”
